Now with LP on an equal footing with high power it is
attracting more serious competitors which I think is a good thing... as  long as all are operating within the rules!

Marv N5AW
Yesterday i did an RBN comparison with  another stn, probably within 100km range of myself. taken from the recent cw wpx.
The compared stn did low power all band. i did high power 15m single band. i use 400w output to an X7 beam at 16m height,  more than a full wavelength high.  the X7 has a fair amount of gain. When the other stn was qrv on 15 he matched or exceeded me all of the time! I don't know what the other stn uses for an antenna on that band but I want one!

it sure does make you think,
73  Brian C4Z / 5B4AIZ..

In the past the lower points for low power made it less attractive for
anyone seriously wanting to qualify for WRTC. As a result the rationale
that LP deserved less points because it was less competitive was self
fulfilling. Now with LP on an equal footing with high power it is
attracting more serious competitors which I think is a good thing... as
long as all are operating within the rules!
